Tips for Press Releases:

  • Identify the recipient (e.g. Finance/ Health Editors.)
  • Provide a headline (max 60 characters) that will lead the reader into the statement.
  • Get someone to check your statement's spelling and grammar.
  • Keep the statement as brief as possible. (Long statements do not get read.)
  • At the bottom of the statement provide a contact name and telephone number. (Be prepared to be called by a radio station.)
