Primary schools and other subscribers receive news tailor-written for youngsters in an e-mail publication that goes out free of charge on Tuesdays and Thursdays during school terms. Developed with feedback from teachers, Learn the News also carries extensive glossaries.

The newspaper is partly translated into Afrikaans and  isiZulu.

The aims of the newspaper are to promote reading, general knowledge and interest in current affairs.
On Wednesdays, a worksheet that can be used in the classroom, or for homework, based on the Tuesday’s English edition issue, goes out to subscribers.

The subscriber list is ever-growing. During May 2008, the newspapers were being sent to some 2171 e-mail addresses with some 70000 school children using the publications.
